LUKE PENELLA
Luke Penella is one the most respected flute technician in the world and musician with over 22 years of experience. He began his career as a flute finisher with Lillian Burkart and worked with organizations like Buffet Group/Powell and Haynes.
After moving to New York City in 2008, he refined his skills in flute repair with Jeff Weissman and Chris McKenna. Luke became the manager of Weissman Music Manhattan in 2011 and a partner by 2013.
Luke has worked with a wide range of clients, including prominent musicians like Hubert Laws and Gary Schocker, as well as symphony musicians globally. In 2016, he founded the "Flute Forum" on Facebook, now the largest online community for flutists with 75,000 members.
Luke also teaches at conventions and masterclasses, has conducted major international repair commissions, and trained factories in China on large-scale production practices. In addition to his repair work, he actively performs as a musician in New York City and on international tours.
EUGENIO RIGHI
Eugenio Righi is a Master Craftsman Flute and Piccolo Maker with deep ties to the Boston flute-making tradition since 2002.
He began his career at Lillian Burkart and Jim Phelan’s prestigious workshop, specializing in piccolo making, and later joined Brannen Brothers Flutemakers in 2010, where he honed his skills working with top musicians.
Through his scientific approach to flute-making, Eugenio developed methods that make his instruments exceptionally resonant and reliable. In 2022, he began independent work, creating innovative designs for flute and piccolo pads, as well as ultra-light, compact instrument cases.
Eugenio is also a respected lecturer on flute acoustics, mechanics, and repair, having spoken at prestigious institutions across Italy, Finland, the USA, and Mexico. His articles have been published in FaLAUt and Syrinx magazines.
A trained classical flutist, Eugenio studied under Marzio Conti and Alain Marion and He also translated the book "Into Sound" by Giampaolo Pretto, a guide on advanced sound production for the flute.
